Advocates Network REFRESH

Advocates Network Refresh: From Monthly Meeting to Year-Round Identity

If you’ve been part of Great Education Colorado, you may already know the Advocates Network as our monthly virtual meeting — a welcoming space to learn about public education funding issues, connect with other advocates, and get actionable updates.

Those conversations have been powerful.

Month after month since 2021, hundreds of advocates logged in ready to listen, ask questions, and take meaningful action for Colorado students. Upon reflecting, something became clear:

The Advocates Network has grown into more than a meeting.

It has become a community — and a shared identity.

This is the Advocates Network Refresh: A community where aspiring change makers become action ambassadors for public education..

So… what’s changing?

We’re not “ending” the Advocates Network. We’re enhancing the purpose to become more than a meeting online.

It’s no longer defined only by a monthly Zoom link on your calendar. Instead, the Advocates Network now represents:

  • the people across Colorado who care deeply about public education
  • the relationships built through continued conversations
  • the sense of belonging that comes from doing this work together
  • the levels of advocacy that meet advocates where they are in the journey

The Advocates Network is shifting from a single monthly meeting to an ongoing experience and identity within Great Education Colorado.

What will the Advocates Network include now?

You’ll still see chances to gather — virtually and in person — but the refresh expands how we connect. The Advocates Network now means:

  • learning opportunities throughout the year
  • multiple ways to plug in — not just one monthly call
  • advocacy tools and resources you can use right away
  • stories that spotlight community voices
  • actions you can take at the local and statewide level

It’s not just when we meet.
It’s who we are together.

Why the refresh?

The challenges facing Colorado students and educators don’t follow a monthly schedule. Advocates told us they wanted:

  • deeper connections
  • clearer pathways to involvement
  • more ways to learn and lead
  • a sense that this isn’t “just another meeting”

We listened.

The refresh reflects what already exists: a vibrant, committed network that continues advocating long after the virtual session ends.

Where do you fit in?

If you’ve ever attended a monthly Advocates Network call — thank you. You helped build this.

And even if you’ve never been to one, if you:

  • care about public school funding
  • believe every student deserves a welcoming school
  • want your voice to matter in decisions about education

then you belong in the Advocates Network.

What’s next?

In the coming months, you’ll see:

  • refreshed language and visuals for the Advocates Network
    • Change Makers
    • Policy Pathfinders
    • Friendly Fundraisers
    • Action Ambassadors
  • more ways to connect and take action — not just during one meeting a month
  • a clearer picture of how your advocacy fits into a statewide movement
  • opportunities to donate or fundraise for the work Great Education Colorado is committed to do in order support all Colorado students
  • collect swag by earning points for signing up for meetings, attending meetings and participating in actions

Same mission.
Same commitment to Colorado kids.
A stronger, more connected network.

The Advocates Network isn’t just a monthly meeting anymore.
It’s our shared identity — and our path forward together.
