From Well-Funded Halls to Bare Classroom Walls
By: Sree Sharma

This image shows the importance of school funding on a students’ future opportunities. By placing two
black-and-white images side by side, I emphasize the difference between the outcome of a well-funded and poorly-funded school. The image on the left shows a positive outcome, with an engaged and confident student benefiting from modern facilities and resources. On the right, the image reveals the negative consequences of inadequate funding, with a disheartened student that had outdated facilities and limited access to educational tools. Through this visual narrative, I seek to raise awareness about the importance of school funding, portraying its influence not only on individual students but on society as a whole. Well-funded schools provide educational opportunities, create happier learning environments, and contribute to economic growth and innovation, while underfunded schools impede students’ potential and negatively impact society’s progress.
