Colorado: open for business and education?
Last week, Denver Post Editorial Page Editor Dan Haley addressed the topic of Colorado's business climate, asking:
“… can Colorado really, truly, be open for business if we're de-funding the colleges and universities that are supposed to supply a talented pool of workers to businesses? (Higher education could face a $300 million cut next year — a whopping 50 percent reduction in state funding.)
…will businesses want to relocate here, or expand, if the state is slashing money for K-12 schools, making them less desirable for the children of their workers? (Schools took a $260 million hit this year, and could take another whack next year.)”
