Save our State on your Lunch Hour
Great Education Colorado is joining with other advocacy groups and hundreds of Colorado citizens at the Capitol to say “Colorado Cannot CUT Its Way Back to Prosperity.” This is the first of many calls to our elected leaders to consider all options in addressing Colorado’s budget crisis.
WHO? Hundreds of Coloradoans who want to prevent significant services cuts in the coming budget year
WHAT? “Save Our State (SOS)” Rally at the Capitol
WHEN? Tuesday, September 8, 12:00-1:00 p.m.
WHERE? West Steps of the Capitol
WHY? Because Colorado’s students in schools, colleges, and universities are going to be negatively affected when more than $110 million is expected to be cut in the 2009-2010 budget year, and even more in the years after that. This rally is a statement to remind our elected officials that they have other options, and that cuts to crucial services like health care, human services and education will have a devastating effect on Colorado’s citizens — especially children.
