Congrats to Sam Adams, comedian, sports guy and Great Ed Video star, who defeated all comers in the amateur competition at the Great American Comedy Festival.
Even better, Sam was invited to compete with the pros, and has advanced to the finals at the Johnny Carson Theater in Norfolk, Nebraska.

In the videos, Granny learned about the dismal state of school funding in Colorado from conversations with her grandson. From old textbooks, to ancient technology, to fundraising hell, the Granny files highlighted resource issues identified in the 2008 Quality Counts report. (Now those statistics are a year old and the more recent stats are even worse).

Granny’s appearances were a prelude to our delivery at the Capitol of a petition, signed by over 1,000 supporters, requesting legislators to prioritize public education. The viral video campaign was Great Eds first foray into the realm of social networks. These videos were viewed thousands of times on their respective Blip.tv, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, and MySpace pages. See all the Granny files at www.greateducation.org/granny
